Don't forget that the first weekend in December is our annual
"Trash Out Hunger" food drive to benefit our local food banks in Elbert
County.
Why must trash be bagged?
For efficiency, and Health & Safety reasons. It also lessens the chance of
trash blowing out of the trucks and all over the neighborhood.
Because it does get a bit windy here, loose trash doesn't always
stay in the back of the truck. Bagging your trash, helps to keep it
contained.

Can I pay my bill using a credit
card/debit card?
Yes - we accept Visa and MasterCard. We can do an occasional
charge or set up the account for automatic withdrawal. Contact our office
for more information.
Can I pay my bill Online?
Absolutely - Go to our Home page and click the "Buy
Now" button at the bottom of the page.
Why did you start charging a fuel surcharge?
After being in business for over 5 years, unfortunately the economy has
forced us into this position. The unpredictable rising cost of diesel fuel
makes it very challenging for us to regain fuel costs in our standard
operations. Our residential trucks on route average 4 to 6 gallons of fuel
per mile and our roll off trucks about 7. Within the industry, there has
also been a rate increase in environmental compliance costs, which we are
not passing on to our customers.
If fuel prices
go down, will the fuel surcharge change?
Yes,
our every intention is to remove this charge from your invoice.
Yet, there needs to be a significant change in the national average
diesel fuel prices based on the EIA Index. The fee will either be
reduced or deleted accordingly.
How can I
access the EIA Index?
You can
visit
http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/wohdp/diesel.asp
for weekly updated information.
How come you do not send return envelopes with your bills?
Due to the rising costs of everything in our world these days, we felt we
would do everything possible to keep our rates as low as we could. By
adding the additional cost of materials and postage, service rates would
have to increase. We are doing what we can to ensure our rates stay as low
as we can keep them. Maybe in the future we will be able to provide the
envelopes, time will tell.
Do you supply cans? You can use any type of can you would
like. We do not force you to buy or rent cans to suit us, you are free to
use any size you wish up to 95 gallons not including steel barrels. But we
do have the 95 gallon toters (the large ones on wheels with attached lids)
for rent. As long as you have service with us, the fee is $5 per month.
I live on a private road. Will that effect my service?
Unfortunately yes. The biggest problem we run into is road conditions when
they are soaked or snow covered. It can make it very difficult for our
trucks to get up and down the road without tearing it up. So there are
times when your service will be missed but we will make an effort to contact
you and will pick up your service on the next scheduled date, again
permitting road conditions. This is the drivers discretion so it can be a
week to week last minute decision.
Do you take appliances or furniture? And do you give one
freebie a year? We can absolutely talk about picking up large items for
you. A lot of the time we can pickup the item on your regular scheduled
pick up date. There are fees however which vary depending on the item.
We'd love to give you a freebie once a year, but since the waste facilities
and recycling facilities keep raising the rates on these items, we just
can't do it. Please know that if we remove a refrigerator for you, it has
to be certified that it is freon free. Please do not hesitate to contact us
with any further questions.
I have dogs that run loose on my property. Is that a problem?
It could be.... the nicest dogs don't always like the waste collection guys
and gals! Please try to keep your puppies and kitties reined in on your
scheduled pickup date, for their safety and ours. Your service can be
missed for the day if your critters decide that they aren't going to let us
take your trash. They don't always understand that your giving it to us, we
aren't stealing it.
Why do you not have a formal recycling program? We would
love to have a recycling program but to be honest, it's just not feasible at
this time. We understand the larger companies that also service this area
are finding that it is not cost efficient and are not treating recyclables
separately at the land fills. The new "stream-lining" recycling program in
our area tends to be less than truthful. We will not lie to our customers,
but we will also not pass on outrageous fees that the recycling facilities
charge to us. This sounds like we don't care, but we do. We may not offer
recycling, but we can point you in the direction of companies who can, and
drop-offs that are not too far away. There are places easily accessible and
convenient for those who recycle. We encourage it, and our goal one day is
to be able to offer this service at your home. Always be leery of what
sounds too good to be true, such as free recycling.
