RT Services is dedicated to controlling costs so we can maintain the best overall service to you,  however the rising costs of fuel and environmental compliance related costs are not something we can control.  The fuel surcharge is meant to help us cover the increased costs and achieve acceptable operating margins and not implement a rate increase or environmental compliance charge as other companies do.

The fuel surcharge calculation is attached directly to the national average price of diesel fuel as reported weekly by the Energy Information Administration of the US Department of Energy (EIA/DOE) in its Weekly Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices Index.  This index is unbiased, accessible to the public and acknowledged nationally by the transportation and trucking industry.

Our monthly fuel surcharge is based on a percentage as shown on the EIA Index, which we are proud to say we are currently under the national average.  Please visit the EIA Index at http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/wohdp/diesel.asp for weekly updates.

The fuel surcharge is not a tax or surcharge imposed by or forwarded to any government or regulatory agency, it is our charge alone.  This fee may be changed at the discretion of RT Services at any time.
